Two bathrooms, one material palette

Two bathrooms in the same house, finished in one continuous palette: large-format stone-effect porcelain taken floor to ceiling, warm sand in one room and a cooler grey in the other. Running the same tile format through both keeps the scheme calm, and makes the smaller of the two feel considerably larger than it is.

Timber does the warming. A full-height oak storage tower stands beside the shower, open shelving is set flush into the tiling above the bath, and the bath itself is wrapped in a walnut panel. Recessed niches are tiled in a patterned stone and lit from within, so they read as light rather than as holes in a wall.

Vanity tops are stone, floated off the wall with the basins undermounted so the surface stays unbroken. The walk-in shower is tiled in a patterned mosaic to the wet wall. That is the room's one piece of pattern, which is what lets everything else stay quiet.
